Why The World Is So Fixated on Casey Anthony

Casey Anthony, AKA "Tot-Mom", is still big news more than a month after the "verdict heard around the world" came in. It seems that every day we read about, or watch videos on, some new million $+ offers being tossed at her. Many people are either angered at it, amazed by it, or just simply sick of hearing about her and her neo-celebrity status. Why is it that she is still such hot news and worth so much money that people are willing to throw more and more lucrative schemes at her?

If you understand the how the mind works, it is very simple to figure this out. Individual minds are addicted to negative events, and so millions of minds just multiply that effect many times over. This is why we hold on to negative memories from our own past so tightly, so much so, that it blocks us from ever moving into a positive space of success. We relive them over and over, wanting to change them so they never happened. What this does is literally bring them into the present moment and doesn't let us live now. The mind, being a reality creating machine, manifests more of the same negativity. Those familiar with the Law of Attraction or The Secret, know that this is what is taught in those popular self help schools. You may not go along with that idea, but at least one must admit that like seems to attract like.

Minds actually seek out negative stuff on TV. These days the most popular network shows are the reality genre. Here we can see men and women fighting with each other and trying to survive in tough situations, and we can vicariously live through it all with them. Most importantly, there are always losers we can watch. "You're fired!" "I'm sorry, you have to go home." We identify with the losers since we have all lost so many times. Crime series have always been big hits, ie., CSI, Murder She Wrote, etc. People love fictional mysteries, but when the real thing happens, they go ballistic with it.

One well known writer calls the mind the "pain body" because it seems to seek out negativity to feed its addiction to suffering. He says it constantly is on the prowl for meals so it can keep living. The Casey Anthony trial filled the bill. It was a long and winding road that entertained and fed this "body" of the population. The cable legal shows scored 2 times the ratings they normally get and profited handsomely. In fact, one network paid the defense team $200,000 for some videos of the lady's pretrial life. It seems, they get the idea that negativity pays well, and they are correct. Higher ratings mean the air time sells for more money. TV is a business, after all, and Tot-Mom was huge business.

As we become more positive within ourselves, we will be less and less attracted to this type of thing. We gradually move up to more uplifting entertainment and activities, and seek out ways to enlighten ourselves. From the enlightened ones I have known, they say the world is still in a very low place relative to where it will be eventually in years to come. There is greed, corruption, wars, murders, and seeming escape from justice by the guilty. That will change, or so they have told me. Karma is the Ultimate Balancer of justice anyway. It will always be.
